Leaping Into 2025

process goals

As we move into 2025, we are often asked to deliver large scale conferences and presentations designed to re-energise our clients’ main goals, values and aspirations in order to positively move forward into the New Year.  These events usually highlight the big vision of the company, the safety targets, financial projections, the implementation of new systems or the forthcoming business strategy etc.  As clients become ever more creative in their delivery styles, all this can be great fun and generate a lot of good will and enthusiasm.

As the year wears on and the day-to-day demands of work take hold, however, how do we keep this positive momentum.  We do not want our goals and values to go the way of many a New Year’s commitment and be forgotten after three weeks as every-day ‘normality’ kicks in.

Big goals and big visions require big shifts.  Within these big messages the role of the individual and the extent of that individuals control or influence on effecting change may be unclear or overwhelming. When presenting our overall vision, it is important to include some bite sized chunks, small practical and achievable actions well within the scope of people's control; changes that individuals and groups can make in their everyday working lives that will help in moving one step closer to the goal.  To keep enthusiasm, identify some quick wins.  What can we do now/ tomorrow/ when we leave the room, that may not require a big investment but will give a positive boost to morale and keep momentum.  After all, remember how to eat an elephant … one bite at a time.

Most importantly, if we are asking people to behave in a different way, we must ensure they have the capacity to deliver the change we are looking for.  Do they have the resources and skills to succeed.  If people feel they do not have the ability to deliver, it will not be long before they become disheartened and eventually disengaged.  This is why ongoing support throughout the year is vitally important.

Here at Macnaughton McGregor our expertise lies in not only helping clients deliver large scale impactful events to distil company goals and visions; it also lies in providing our clients with the essential long-term support needed to deliver those goal and visions over the forthcoming year. We provide bespoke, practical training programmes, tailored to our clients unique cultural needs, that will supply all levels of their organisation with the personal tools, knowledge, mindsets and skills necessary to effectively deliver positive change the whole year through.
