Start The New Year with a Bang!
Well, here we are again amid the festive season, time for sharing all the best of everything with friends, looking back at the past year, looking forward to next year and … PANICKING! Because of course January means back to work, a new start and … ”What on earth are we going to do for our Back To Work day?!”
We know all about such stuff because of course we’re the ones you all call to come and run such events. Over the years we’ve run safety back to work days in pretty much every workplace you can picture: quarries, railways, motorways, building sites, petrochemical plants, power stations, council offices…..you name it, we’ve been there, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, New Year celebrations just a gently fading and doubtless slightly embarrassing memory.
So given all this, we thought we’d share with you a couple of tips for getting your people re-focused on the job ahead, energised and motivated:
1. Make it different. If your people come back to work and it all feels like more of the same from last year, then why bother with an event at all?
2. Bring the energy. We all need a wake-up from time to time and never more than the first day back after a festive break. Let’s get motivated together!
3. Make it positive. It’s easy to forget the power of praise. You must have all done a good job in 2024 or you wouldn’t all still be here now! So let’s celebrate it!
4. Get your message across. What do you want to happen after the event? Make sure whatever the nature of your event that they go away and remember your central message.
5. Change is good! New year, new us. If we stand still, we actually move backwards. Make sure your message is centred around selling positive change.
And if all that sounds rather taxing……well you know where we are! Our new year is already looking busy but it costs nothing to talk and our friends know how much we enjoy a chat!
Whatever you decide to do for your new year Back to Work event, wherever in the world you work, here’s a toast. Here’s to a happy, healthy and safe 2025 for you and all your people, from all of us here at 2macs.
